Resumen

ABSTRACT

The object of this paper is the analysis of Hasier Etxeberria’s novel Mugetan (1988). This novel constitutes one of the first works in Basque literature addressing the Basque conflict. This article explores the interplay between the representation of the Basque conflict, the impact of trauma and gender. We have first examined the context and the critical reception of the literary text. Secondly, together with the narrative analysis, we sought to unlock the two main symbols of the text, Bi arraia marroi (two red lines) and Eperik Gabeko Saltoa (a jump without a deadline), considering them the keys to a possible rereading.
