Abstract

This article examines the representations of the writings of the body in
basque gay poetry. To this end, this research analyzes how the body is written
based on the main discourses christian, postmodern and queer that concep-
tualize the body through the poetic corpus formed by the poems of the authors
Rikardo Arregi Diaz de Heredia, Juanjo Olasagarre and Angel Erro. In particular,
it explores how basque gay poetry uses the body as a means to challenge tradi-
tional forms, therefore proposing other ways of seeing, thinking and poetizing
corporeality. Thus, the writings of the body show how the prevailing discourses
are the ones that create the conception of the body. But, above all, it is observed
how the body becomes a space of poetic-political resistance; a place of enuncia-
tion from which desire, pleasure, space and even the body itself are claimed.
