Abstract
The neighbourhood of the coast of Askizu, sheltered from its high cliffs, has
been served since ancient times by the parish temple of St. Martin, paid for by
the church of St. Savior. In this church, a capricious demolition of interior plaster
has facilitated a surprising stratigraphic reading of the works, and made it
possible to deduce their constructive stages. They were then connected with the
sequence of the stages of construction, with the refl ection on the exchange of sizes
and materials between the various works in the temple of the royal villa.
